Selecting the right customers is one of the most important parts of a WhatsApp campaign. In UpBlick, the audience field decides who will receive the campaign, so it is worth checking the location, customer list, and consent status before you send.

Before you choose the audience

  • Switch to the correct business location.
  • Make sure the customers you want to target belong to that location.
  • Confirm the customers have valid WhatsApp or mobile numbers.
  • Check that they have agreed to receive the type of message you plan to send.

Step 1: Review your customer list first

Before opening the campaign send screen, it helps to review your customer data so your audience is clean and usable. On the Customers page, you can:

  • Search for specific customers
  • Review the customer list for the selected location
  • Check whether contact details are present
  • Add or import missing customer records if needed

Step 2: Open the campaign form

  1. Open Campaigns > WhatsApp.
  2. Choose the campaign template you want to use.
  3. Select Send Campaign.

UpBlick then opens the campaign details screen where you can choose the audience.

Step 3: Choose the audience

On the Send WhatsApp Campaign page, use the Audience field to select the customer group for this campaign.

The audience selector determines which customers are counted as recipients. UpBlick also notes that only customers with a WhatsApp No or Mobile No are counted.

Step 4: Review the selected audience summary

After you choose the audience, look at the summary panel on the right side of the page. It shows:

  • The selected audience name
  • The number of recipients currently included

This is your quick check before sending. If the count looks too high, too low, or unexpected, pause and review the audience again.

Who should be included

  • Customers who belong to the selected location
  • Customers with a valid WhatsApp or mobile number
  • Customers who have agreed to receive campaign or business communication
  • Customers who fit the purpose of the campaign

Who should be excluded

  • Customers without a usable phone number
  • Customers whose consent is missing or unclear
  • Customers tied to the wrong location
  • Duplicate or incomplete customer records

Best practices

  • Check the audience before writing the final message copy.
  • Keep your customer records clean and current.
  • Use a targeted audience instead of sending every campaign to every customer.
  • Review the recipient count before sending or scheduling.

Troubleshooting

Review the audience choice, active location, and whether customers in that audience actually have WhatsApp or mobile numbers saved.

Pause before sending and switch to a more targeted audience. It is safer to narrow the list than to message customers who should not receive the campaign.

Check whether the missing customers belong to another location, lack a valid number, or are not included in the selected audience group.

Frequently asked questions

Does the audience count every customer automatically?

No. The campaign screen counts only customers who match the selected audience and have a WhatsApp number or mobile number available.

Should I use All Customers for every campaign?

Not always. It is usually better to choose an audience that matches the purpose of the campaign rather than sending the same message to everyone.

Why should I review the customer list before selecting the audience?

Because clean customer data makes the audience more accurate and reduces failed sends, missing recipients, and messaging mistakes.
